Bringing people together to support social innovation in our communities.
Chesterfield SOUP is an event which gives micro grants to local community based projects to make ideas a reality, over a simple supper dinner.
By making a donation to the micro-fund on the door you not only get a vote but you also get a bowl of soup to enjoy while you’re mulling over who to spend that vote on. The project which receives the most votes is awarded 100% of the donations taken on the door
How does it work?
For a suggested donation of £5, attendees receive a simple soup supper and hear up to four short talks from local people running community projects.
These can range from art, urban agriculture, social justice, social entrepreneurs, education, technology and much more.
At the end of the night, everyone votes on their preferred project, the ballots are counted and winner goes home with ALL of the money raised on the night to develop their project!
Winners come back to a future SOUP dinner to report on their project’s progress.
How can I take part?
There are several ways you can take part:
Attend and Vote – registration is via Eventbrite.
Pitch – are you an individual, team or community group that needs help for an idea that could benefit a community.
Volunteer – we’re always looking for people to help organise and grow our SOUP community!
Contribute – are you a local entertainer who would like the opportunity to perform; or a local business who can offer a service pro-bono or sponsor the event which will be added to the winner’s fund.
